Full
day tour Santo Domingo:
First City of the New World, City of Colors, Flavors, Happiness,
Carnival, Merengue.
No one can visit
the Dominican Republic without coming to the magical, historical,
and romantic capital of Santo Domingo, called the First City
of the Americas because it received royal recognition as a city
in 1503 and because of all the "firsts" that happened
here before they happened anywhere else
in the New World. Here you will find the magnificent Cathedral
that dominates all others in the Americas, the first monasteries
and first convent, first European fortress, first mint and treasury
office, first hospital, first university, first European paved
road... Santo Domingo was founded in 1496 on the east bank of
the Ozama River by Bartolomé Colón, Christopher Columbus's brother,
and was baptized New Isabela in honor of the Queen of Spain.
Santo Domingo served as the base for all the Spanish expeditions
to the recently discovered lands of the New World and as the
central court of royal justice for all of Spain's growing colonies.
SAS Travel & Tours and Student Services, CXA has prepared

Night
Tour

It
seems as if no one ever sleeps in the Dominican Republic, where
the people enjoy an active social life. The relaxed and safe
way of life here is well represented during the long nocturnal
hours. Evenings begin with Happy Hour from 5-7 p.m., perhaps
enjoying a bottle of our excellent Dominican rum.
Leaving
from any hotel or zone of the Dominican Republic in comfortable,
modern buses, or small planes if you prefer, accompanied by
an expert guide, we'll first visit the Plaza de España, where
we'll enjoy a tropical drink or a cold beer at the Museo del
Jamón, a famous Spanish-style bar whose name comes from
its ceiling, from which hang many delicious Serrano hams. Here
we'll also enjoy a performance of typical Spanish dancing in
the open air. Then
we'll dine at a restaurant with a buffet loaded with typical
Dominican foods. From there we'll go to the Hotel Jaragua to
enjoy a spectacular live Merengue show, and whoever so wishes
may forget all about the outside world and enjoy themselves
in the largest casino in all the Caribbean.
Later
that evening, we'll go to the Guácara Taína, an
incredible discoteque inside a natural cavern, where we'll enjoy
a variety of popular musical styles among the stalactites and
stalagmites and where, to add to the fun, we'll be accompanied
by members of a young university association called "Grupo
Guanín," who will teach you our dance steps. (For
