Cloud Forest Excusion 4 days, 3 nights:

Day 1. The tour leaves Santo Domingo at 7:00 am arriving at the Costa Larimar hotel at 10:30 pm. Enjoy lunch and the hotel's beautiful view, the pool and beach. At 4:00 pm is a tour of the city of Barahona and the sugar refinery, and at 7 pm a beautiful dinner buffet will be served.

Day 2. Breakfast is served at 7:30 am and tour will leave for the community of Cienega, a provice of Barahona, passing through large coffee, fruit and other agricultural plantations before arriving to the community of Cachote about 20 Km away. There is then the option to travel by mule or on foot. The visitor will observe beautiful panoramic views of the mountains, forsets, and coastline.

You'll also see a diversity of birds, and tropical vegetation such as bromeliads, orchids, Ebano Verde (only species left in the world are here). Upon arriving Cachote, the tour stops at the Nizaito lookout point, where one can observe all of the mountains that border the most important river of the municipality of the paradise municipial and enjoy the cool breezes produced by the mountain wind.

The trip through the forest is made even more interesting as contact is made with a great diversity of ferns and sharing with a farming community that is caring for the reforestation of the area. As the tour returns to Cachote, visitors will experience Majagualito, a small Haitian community of migrant farm workers that are undertaking conservation projects with a group of Haitian workers.

This point is another great place for photos of the gorgeously shocking panoramic views. Finally visitors will head on foot to enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools of the San Rafael River before returning back to the hotel .

Dias 3.Following the way after we visit the Haitian border, we will visit the Larimar mines and the Magnetic Pole.

Dias 4. We will stay one night at Enquillo Lake, staying at the turist cabin's Magey Guest House. We will be able to visit the National Park Lago Enriquillo and the Isla Cabrito, in the day time, at the night time freedom for every one to enjoy the merengue, salsa and bachata with local people. A typical lunch will be served at the Guest House to complement a spectacular view of Lake Enriquillo. The afternoon will then be open to free time to seek rest or for further exploration. The night will offer an opportunity to learn merengue,salsa and bachata and enjoy time with affectionate and hospitable locals.

Departure for Santo Domingo is 6:00pm from the Costa Larimar hotel, arriving in Santo Domingo at 9:00pm.
